STG1(SW) Lloréns, Brittanie
An aspiring Public Affairs Officer currently serving aboard USS Russell (DDG 59), STG1 serves as the Unit Public Affairs Representative (UPAR). She directly contributes towards the Russell's social media presence by creating content showcasing the milestones, accomplishments and events onboard Russell, resulting in a greater connection between Sailors and their families and an increased awareness of RUSSELL and its crew in the information environment. She also created and produced RUSSELL's first monthly newsletter, used to highlight Sailor accomplishments, entertain and engage readers through comedy, and inform the crew of important resources available internally and externally. Prior to her enlistment she received a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition from Jacksonville University. With a background in music composition and voice performance STG1 is skilled at taking an idea and converting it into reality through planning and execution. STG1 Lloréns is passionate, driven, and committed to achieving excellence in all that she does.
Red Dragon Review
The Red Dragon Review is an ongoing, two-page, monthly newsletter supporting internal communications. The front page is used to recognize RUSSELL Sailors of outstanding performance who were awarded Red Dragon of the Week, by using hometowns and fun facts highlighting diversity. It also informs Sailors of Navy news and supports a culture of safety by providing tips relevant on and off-ship.
The second page informs RUSSELL Sailors of different programs, program managers and organizations ensuring that the crew knows of the multitude of resources available to them. It provides information on individual finance health and historical naval figures. The “Captain’s Corner” is a direct line of communication to the crew summarizing events of the past month and what to expect in the near future.

SAN DIEGO (September 16, 2022) CDR James Hopp turns over command of the USS Russell (DDG-59) to CDR Brett Jasionowski after serving together as CO and XO during an extended maintenance period. Russell Sailors attend the ceremony to witness and celebrate the occasion on the USS Midway Museum.
